Why learn Sign Language?

sign-language-small.pngEveryone needs to be able to communicate. You don’t have to be Deaf or Hard of Hearing to use sign language for communication. I am sure you  see and use sign language everyday and don’t even realize it.

Think about when you wave good-bye to your mom or dad in the morning

or when you tell a friend to come over where you are standing by waving them towards you.

Baseball and football players have been using sign language for decades to communicate on the field. This is how they tell each other what play or pitch to make next with out the other team knowing what’s coming.

Sign language is the 3rd most popular language in the United States. There is talk now with school board officials making sign language an option for foreign language in high schools.

So why learn sign language? It’s everywhere!
