Spelling Unit 4

Here are Mrs. Spence’s Unit 3 spelling words. The words in bold can be found in the on-dictionary. Here is a challenge  for you: Use a Thesaurus to find synonyms for the words in your list not in bold. How many words can you find signs for using synonyms?

Another lesson in becoming an interpreter; you must have a good vocabulary or access to a thesaurus to find the right sign. Not all words have signs, so you need to know what the word means and be able to find a different word that means the same thing to find a sign.

Good Luck. Let me know what synonyms you used to find the signs for your spelling words.

bloom, annoy, avoid, naughty, mound, roost, clause, appoint, scoop, haul, hawk, loose (not tight), sprout, droop, crouch, vault, squawk, sought, groove, foul, hoist, gloom, trout, noun, moist.
