Unit 8 Spelling words

For some of these words you are going to have to use some creative thinking and a Thesaurus to find signs. Let me know what words you found to be able to find signs for all of your spelling words this week.

Okay guys, here are Mrs. Spence’ unit 7 words for this week. Practice fingerspelling all of your words and tell me how many of these words you were able to find signs for using the on-line dictionary.

Here are the Basic and Review words for Mrs. Spence’s 6th grade language arts class. Practice fingerspelling your words and look up your words in the on-line dictionary.

This week I am giving you a page you print off to keep in your notebook so you can practice your words anytime.The words in bold do not have signs on the sheet, but see if you can find them on-line. Remember; words can have different signs depending on the meaning of the word in the sentence.

Spelling Unit 4

Here are Mrs. Spence’s Unit 3 spelling words. The words in bold can be found in the on-dictionary. Here is a challenge for you: Use a Thesaurus to find synonyms for the words in your list not in bold. How many words can you find signs for using synonyms?

Another lesson in becoming an interpreter; you must have a good vocabulary or access to a thesaurus to find the right sign. Not all words have signs, so you need to know what the word means and be able to find a different word that means the same thing to find a sign.
